They include Tall Ship James Craig, ferry Kanangra, steamship John Oxley, 1902 steam tug Waratah, 1902 VIP launch Lady Hopetoun, 1903 schooner Boomerang and several diesel motor launches.
Sydney Heritage Fleet owns, restores and operates historic steam ships, sailing ships and many smaller launches. Our current major project is the restoration to full ocean-going condition of John Oxley a former Moreton Bay pilot steamer, 760 tons. You, the volunteer will be a skilled welder and steel fabricator to aid in the final stages of hull restoration, particularly the forecastle. Your team leader is gentle giant whose welding surpasses marine standard for boiler work.

The Ashburton Community Centre runs a range of activities, classes and courses for the local community. Our office is open Monday – Friday 9am – 2:30pm. We are seeking an experienced graphic designer who is able to take information that we have gathered for our ‘Sustainable Ashburton’ project and develop a logo, map and poster.
Assist in keeping the interior of the MV Cape Don (a historic museum ship) clean
Restore and rebuild the historic MV Cape Dons water systems. The former lighthouse tender is now a museum and training ship undergoing restoration. The ability to improve the showering and toilets as well as waste water faculties onboard will make love easier for the rest of the volunteers
