Ashburton Community Centre-BVRC
The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is promoting this role on behalf of Ashburton Community Centre.
Background The Ashburton Community Centre runs a range of activities, classes and courses for the local community. Our office is open Monday – Friday 9am – 2:30pm. The Centre office team is small: 5 people all working part time hours along with a complement of valued office volunteers.
We are seeking someone happy to work with the community to develop a resource (printed brochure, poster, content for a web page) that summarises all the sustainable initiatives that are operating along Ashburton High St and surrounds. Days and times are flexible.
Tasks / Responsibilities
- Talking with local retailers, shops and community organisations about their sustainable initiatives and how they operate.
- Summarising information
- Designing and preparing a resource to promote these initiatives (eg a map, tri-fold brochure, poster, web-page content….)
Skills / Experience
- Strong graphic design skills
- Basic computer skills eg word, excel
- Copy writing
- Warm friendly manner – happy to talk with people
- A “can do” approach
