The role of the Treasurer has been streamlined in recent years following the initiatives implemented by the Acting Treasurer who has decided to step down from the Treasurer role to focus upon other activities within the Association. The Treasurer provides support to the Management Committee by managing the financial reporting, payment of invoices, managing the preparation of an annual budget, managing financial investments and ensuring compliance with the Birds SA Rules. Birds SA uses Xero accounting software.

A high level of assistance and advice will be available by several previous Treasurers of Birds SA if necessary. The Treasurer is usually supported by an assistant/bookkeeper and you will have the opportunity to engage one.

The Treasurer will be a member of the Birds SA Management Committee which works in a highly collaborative and supportive atmosphere. It meets on the second Monday of each month at 7:30 pm.

A police check is required and will be funded by Birds SA if needed.
