Want to make a positive impact and help someone new to Australia to learn English? Do you love learning of other cultures? Support adult refugees from CALD backgrounds to acquire English language skills so they can thrive in their community! Our Adult English classes are held in Koondoola Primary School, supported by the Multicultural Community Centre onsite. You will have be able to plan and deliver the lessons. All books, learning materials, training and ongoing support will be provided.
No specific experience is needed to be an outstanding EdConnect volunteer. From one-to-one or small group mentoring to literacy or numeracy support within a classroom; from volunteering in a school garden, the library or at the canteen to assisting with sports or other school-based activities, like Breakfast Club, you have the skills and life-experience that are highly valued by schools and which make a difference to students, each and every day.

MDFA's Peer Support Groups provide a safe and welcoming space for people living with aged-related macular degeneration to share their stories and ask questions of their peers. The Facilitator role is well suited to someone with good communications skills and confidence in public speaking. Ideally you will have experience facilitating a support group and/or demonstrate the ability to lead a balanced discussion. Personal experience with macular disease is desirable, not necessary.
