Southside Community Care Inc. is a non profit community organisation and has been assisting disadvantaged families for 35 years. Our main focus is supporting and housing homeless families, although we do offer some other services to assist people in the community. We are supported by the Department of Housing and Public Works to employ two workers and are provided with 16 properties to assist homeless families under the Crisis Accommodation Assistance program. We also own four properties to offer affordable accommodation to some tenants exiting our homeless service.

Southside Community Care Inc provides a holistic response to families and individuals who are housed and supported through the organisation.

This role would be spending a morning 1-2 days a week to sort donations that come in from the community. Firstly, we set aside household items, like cutlery crockery sheets pillows blankets etc for our crisis accommodation properties (18 families at a time in our properties). Then what we don't use in the houses can be sorted for our thrift shop.

We can apply for working with children check when you are here however it is unlikely you will be exposed to children in this particular position.
