Are you a social media enthusiast, perhaps a student, looking to gain hands-on experience while making a positive impact? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Social Media Creator

At Fair Trade and Gift Shop, we believe in harnessing the power of social media to sell our hand-made indigenous products to create meaningful change and connect with our community. We also sell pre-loved quality items. As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting our social media initiatives and helping us amplify our message, and sales.

Responsibilities:

Content Creation:

  • Assist in creating engaging and compelling social media content for various platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more
  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm ideas and develop creative campaigns
  • Content Scheduling and Publishing
  • Help in scheduling and publishing social media posts according to our content calendar
  • Ensure that posts are published at optimal times for maximum reach and engagement.

Community Engagement:

  • Interact with our online community by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries
  • Follow-up sales promptly ensuring an efficient and timely transaction
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere while maintaining our brand voice and guidelines

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Assist in monitoring social media metrics and generating reports to track the performance of our campaigns
  • Identify trends and insights to optimise our strategies
  • Maintain a spreadsheet of sales

Research and Trends:

  • Stay up to date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices
  • Share your findings with the team and propose innovative ideas to enhance our online presence

Collaboration and Learning:

  • Work closely with our team to learn from experienced professionals
  • Contribute your ideas and insights during team meetings and brainstorming sessions

Requirements:

  • Passion for social media and its role in driving positive change
  • Basic understanding of major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Creativity and ability to think outside the box
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and take direction
  • Familiarity with social media scheduling tools and analytics is a plus
