As a volunteer, you'll be engaging with elderly residents who are living with dementia, serving wine and cheese tastings and creating a great atmosphere. You will love seeing the smiles you can bring to the faces of people who’ve missed out on these social interactions, due to COVID.
Do you enjoy hosting a good old sausage sizzle? We’re looking for volunteers to assist staff with a barbecue for residents in their cottage garden. Staff will be on hand, your role will be to turn the food over, so it cooks through and chat with residents around the barbecue.
Your friendly nature and good communication skills will be highly regarded in this role. Assist the frail aged in the community to remain living in their own homes by providing essential transport services. This role may require driving clients to home/hospital visits, transport to appointments, social activities, and shopping. You will require your own registered and comprehensively insured motor vehicle.
Your social nature, excellent communication skills, physical fitness and empathy for the older and disabled members of our community will be highly regarded in this role, assisting clients on social outings. You'll help clients on and off the bus, engage them in conversation, and generally provide companionship during outings. You'll need to be fully vaccinated for COVID 19 and willing to undergo a current National Criminal Check.
Assist with the operation of the Book Trolley at our Centre. This role involves processing donated books and magazines, including screening suitable books and magazines for content. You will organise and maintain the Volunteer Library, organise and transport the book trolley, offer books and magazines to consumers, their carers, and families in our Centre and provide general support and/or conversation to involve them in positive connections.

Local aged care facility is looking for people to engage with people living with dementia to potter in the gardens, water and tend to the variety of plants. Not hard work, just the opportunity to share your love for gardening. Ideally, it would be appreciated if you could have an availability of at least one hour per week. We are seeking reliable and enthusiastic volunteers to assist at our toy library during our Saturday morning sessions. Duties include checking and cleaning returned toys and counting pieces if needed, organising shelves and displays, labelling new toys and setting up and packing away before and after sessions. The Role involves welcoming members and volunteers attending the toy library, assisting members with questions, providing guidance in finding suitable toys and assisting with new members.
Do you have good teamwork skills and like helping others? Clothing Pool Volunteers will assist with the operation of the Clothing Pool at our Centre. This role involves unpacking and sorting donated clothing according to a set of guidelines, including sorting according to size and season. Packaging clothing and delivering items and packs to the Centre via a trolley from the Volunteer Office. Reviewing and maintaining stock levels, including assisting with targeted appeals for donations.
We are seeking volunteers to support the spiritual and emotional needs of elderly people living in an aged care home. As a pastoral care volunteer, you’ll be actively involved with a local Christian church. You’ll supplement and complement the work of our Residential Pastoral Care Coordinator and under their direction, you may support people to meet their spiritual needs, support people and families in times of crisis and nurture spiritual development.

You may also be required to teach/lead groups of young people to learn about planting and maintaining vegetable gardens, installing irrigation systems and general gardening.
