While the primary role of the SES is to respond to incidents involving floods and storms, it also provides crucial support and assistance to other emergency service organisations. SES is open to men and women with a reasonable degree of physical fitness and a passion to get involved within their community. When a natural disaster strikes or an emergency situation arises, DFES’s SES volunteers can be found providing a wide range of volunteer services to help the community.
No specific experience is needed to be an outstanding EdConnect volunteer. From one-to-one or small group mentoring to literacy or numeracy support within a classroom; from volunteering in a school garden, the library or at the canteen to assisting with sports or other school-based activities, like Breakfast Club, you have the skills and life-experience that are highly valued by schools and which make a difference to students, each and every day.
Put your flare for fashion and desire to give back into good use and help to transform the lives of those in need. Through the sale of clothing, accessories, homewares, and other assorted items in these stores, Vinnies is able to clothe, feed,shelter and support those in need. Your volunteering experience will be varied, with a range of different tasks regularly being carried out in store. Meet new people, develop new skills, build friendships and have fun as part of our volunteering family.

Become a weekend tour guide and open the Old Blythewood House and show visitors around.
Carrying out general gardening activities according to the agreed maintenance plan identifying monthly, half yearly and annual tasks.
Coordinating functions and meeting outside of the Pinjarra Football and Netball Club game days.
Help save the Critically Endangered Western Ringtail Possum.
