Work with our Events/Activities Committee to prepare and present a variety of craft, art, gardening, or music activities with our community. Duties include setting up and disassembling these activities, meet and greet, signing off attendees, running the small event (approx. 10-20 people), and cleaning the space before and after the event. You may also assist with teaching and sharing your skills with activities.
Your gardening experience, or your willingness to learn new gardening skills, will be greatly appreciated in this role. You'll be working outdoors in a beautiful setting: planting, weeding, pruning and mulching as well as other garden related activities. Days and hours are negotiable to suit your schedule. Your strong literacy and numeracy skills, and your patience and dedication, will be highly regarded in this role, assisting Adult Vocational Education students who may be challenged by, or face barriers with, the literacy and numeracy requirements within the course they are undertaking. You’ll assist a student with reading, writing & numeracy exercises, sometimes during class and sometimes one-on-one.

You will work hands-on with seniors to solve tech issues while fostering an environment of understanding, empathy, and collaboration between generations. Specifically, you will assist seniors with tech-related queries and issues, such as smartphone, tablet, or computer troubleshooting. Provide guidance to fellow volunteers in their interactions with seniors.

These may include having a coffee and a chat and sharing stories, enjoying hobbies or simply relaxing and watching the world go by.
