We are seeking champion volunteers to visit lonely older people in Ivanhoe and its surrounding suburbs. Our program helps to improve the lives of older people who face social isolation through meaningful friendships. It's very rewarding, flexible, and suited to anyone who is friendly, kind and reliable!
Visit a socially or culturally isolated resident in an aged care facility or in their own home in the Eastern region of Victoria. From Monash to Yarra Valley. Everyone is welcome to volunteer at parkrun events. We have heaps of fun, simple and rewarding opportunities to lend a hand for one to two hours on a Saturday morning at parkrun events across Australia. No training is required, roles are fully supported on the day and you can take part as often or as little as you would like. You can volunteer as a marshal, timekeeper, photographer or try your hand at scanning barcodes and handing out tokens…..to name a few of the roles we have available.

If you are proficient in spoken English and are willing to teach online, we would greatly appreciate your assistance. Our primary focus is on conversational English. Boroondara Cooks is a meal sharing and community-strengthening program that supports older residents (Diners) who live in their own home, however aren’t always able to cook for themselves. The program connects community members (Volunteer Cooks) who are happy to share an extra portion of their home cooked meal with an older neighbour on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. The Diner appreciates a regular home cooked meal delivered to them and a friendly face to say hello.

Balwyn Op shop sells affordable preloved clothes, books, other clean and undamaged merchandise for Women and children. Volunteers are an integral part of VMCH's 4 Opportunity Shops and Warehouse, they help raise vital funds for the people we support.

Special Olympics Melbourne Inner East (MIE) is seeking one or two enthusiastic volunteers to organise, administrate and oversee our Bocce Program. The Bocce Coordinator(s) will work under the direction of the Club Sports Coordinator and State Bocce Manager. Special Olympics is a not-for-profit organisation with the primary goal of helping those with an intellectual disability to participate in sport to enhance their physical and mental wellbeing, sense of purpose and community connections.
