AccessCare’s Social Links service is currently recruiting dedicated volunteers. Many of AccessCare’s clients live alone and can be quite isolated, so this program is intended to help encourage social connections and mental wellbeing. Using your own vehicle, assist those in the community who can't drive due to illness or circumstance get out for medical appointments, funerals, shopping, exercise, social connection. Some drives may be only 100 metres and some as far as 100 kms. Drivers are never asked to do more than they are comfortable with. Some reimbursement is available to cover petrol costs. Drivers are kept connected with a newsletter and monthly morning teas.
