Job Title: Acting Director (Volunteer Position)

About Us: Dogs Canberra Limited (DogsCBR) is a newly established not-for-profit organization committed to enriching public mental health and community wellbeing through dog-centred services. Our mission is to enrich lives through establishing compassionate connections to dogs. We're on the brink of launching our pilot program, catering to all Canberrans, and we warmly invite you to submit your application.

About You: We're seeking individuals who are not only passionate about dogs and their community but also dedicated to enhancing mental health awareness and support. While a background in management is preferred, what matters most is your eagerness to learn and contribute to our cause. If you're ready to make a tangible difference in both the lives of dogs and the mental well-being of our community, we want you on our team.

Responsibilities (full Position Description available on request):

  • Leadership and management.
  • Program development and implementation.
  • Stakeholder engagement.
  • Fundraising and development.
  • Human Resources.
  • Reporting and evaluation.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for dogs and commitment to improving the community.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to the growth of a starting charity/NGO.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of corporate management and operations is preferred.
  • Willingness to commit to a volunteer position for a minimum of 3 months.
