About Your Role:

The Client Support Volunteer will be responsible for supporting people in the local community to apply and complete applications for no interest loan products.

Key Duties and Responsibilities of this role

Your regular duties throughout an average day will involve:

  • Interview clients who are interested in the NILS product, complete assessment and have a financial conversation with client(s) to determine suitability for the no interest loan products.
  • Review information/documentation provided by clients to ensure loan eligibility and suitability.
  • Identifying and, where appropriate, facilitating referral opportunities between clients and other Anglicare WA services, where needs are identified

Please note that the responsibility for loan approvals/declines rests with Anglicare WA NILS Loan processors.

You will always have access to and be supported by the WA NILS team and Anglicare WA staff on site.

About You: Your Knowledge and Experience

People interested in volunteering will enjoy working both independently and alongside others and possess following skills or attributes:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Confident in the use of Office 365, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet
  • Comfortable learning and using different software systems
  • Ability to respond appropriately, sensitively and non-judgment to clients
  • Ability to follow documented procedures
  • Respect and concern for confidentiality

Our ideal candidate will also have demonstrated administrative or loan preparation experience or be studying towards. However, the most important thing we are looking for is someone who shares and models Anglicare WA’s values, who is a motivated and friendly team player and who has a willingness to learn.

Role Relationships

  • Reports directly to Team Leader, WA No Interest Loans
  • Works closely with the Anglicare WA staff, WA NILS Team, Volunteers and Volunteer Engagement Lead
