Aged Care Volunteer Visitors – Make a difference through friendship (Montrose)

Inclusion Melbourne

Logo for Inclusion Melbourne

A lovely gentleman in Montrose would enjoy your regular company each week or fortnight. He enjoys chatting about movies, motor sports, trains, current affairs, and football. He lives in a nursing home and having a friendship with a volunteer visitor would bring great joy to his life.

Inclusion Melbourne is an auspice in the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS); a national program that aims to enrich the quality of life of older people and enhance their social connectedness.

As an Inclusion Melbourne Aged Care Volunteer Visitor, you’ll spend time with someone in your local community who may be lonely or socially isolated. We're looking for caring individuals who can sit and have a chat, reminisce and talk about topics of interest.

Our Volunteer Coordinator will spend time with you to understand your interests and background, and they’ll work to match you with a client in a suburb nearby who may share these similar interests.

Your impact: Volunteering as a social visitor is a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits on a fortnightly basis for a minimum of 12 months are required. Visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy and happiness to the recipient you are matched with. Come and join us!
