Volunteer to change lives. Yours included. This volunteer opportunity will help to make a meaningful difference by engaging with our elders and contributing to the diversity of day to day activities and/or entertainment options available to participate in.

This volunteer opportunity will help residents live life in all its fullness by engaging our elders in our Lifestyle program. The social interaction, mental stimulation and physical activity that stems from these activities is a valuable part of our elders day and the care provided. Our Lifestyle program welcomes volunteers with a bright and happy personality and responsibilities include assisting with arts/crafts, tech sessions, beauty treatments, playing games, concerts, our Sunshine Club, external excursions, Coffee club or simply enjoying a cup of tea with a resident; there is no limit to the unrealised opportunities to contribute using your own personal interests and hobbies.

We welcome volunteers to share, whatever your skills, passions and availability may be, with our residents to help make their day.

Small in size but giant in spirit is how we describe ourselves at Beachwood. We offer a peaceful environment where you are surrounded by beautiful gardens and able to hear the birds sing merrily from our aviary. Our Lifestyle program is centred around the interests of our elders and can be incredibly busy at times but our dedicated team all lend a hand to get the job done. We have multiple areas for our elders to join in group activities or spend some time alone including a chapel area, coffee lounge, external courtyard and many lovely quiet spots to sit and chat 1:1.

Tasks involved include: ▪ ▪ Activity preparations ▪ Interacting with residents participating in the activity Supporting bus excursions Assistance at events 1:1 social visits Administration where applicable

Skills Required: ▪ A special talent or interest not essential.
▪ Volunteers must have a valid Flu vaccination (certificate/letter)

Please note that it will take 2-4 weeks for checks to be completed before undertaking induction, orientation to commence in this role.
