Do you enjoy interacting with older members of our community? Do you have some skills or interests that would appeal to older people? HammondCare’s Social Club at Erina is looking for volunteers that can attend weekly to be apart of the activities with our Clients. The Social Club offers clients who are frail aged and or living with dementia a chance to spend a day socialising outside their home.

HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly guests joining us at one of our Social Clubs or staying at our short stay Respite Cottages. As a pastoral care volunteer, you’ll be a Christian actively involved with a local Christian church in Gosford and surrounding regions.

You’ll supplement and complement the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may:

• Support people to meet their spiritual needs through one on one or small group ‘Bible Chats’ (informal, mini services)

• Support people in listening to their stories

• Nurture spiritual development

You’ll find that as a pastoral care volunteer you’ll nurture your own spiritual life.

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme is funded by the Australian Government, established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community. Face to face training due to commence at HammondCare WoyWoy 22 May 2024
