Activity and Entertainment Coordinator + Assistant

As a Volunteer Activity and Entertainment Coordinator for the annual Santa Paws Event, you will play a crucial role in organising and managing various activities aimed at raising funds and awareness for our cause. You will be responsible for planning and executing engaging and impactful activities that attract participants and donors while ensuring a positive experience for both volunteers and attendees. This role requires creativity, organisation, a passion for dogs and charitable work.

Responsibilities:

Activity and Entertainment Planning and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with the event planning team to brainstorm, plan, and execute engaging activities and entertainment suitable for participants of all ages and interests.
  • Develop a diverse range of activities such as dog walks, agility courses, pet grooming stations, musical entertainment, photo booths, and educational seminars about responsible pet ownership.
  • Coordinate with vendors, sponsors, muscians/djs and volunteers to ensure the smooth execution of planned activities.
  • Ensure that all activities adhere to safety regulations and guidelines, especially those involving animals.

Participant Engagement and Experience:

  • Create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for event participants, encouraging them to actively participate in activities.
  • Interact with attendees, answer questions, and provide information about Santa Paws’ mission and programs.
  • Gather feedback from participants to continually improve future events and activities.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for animal welfare and commitment to the Santa Paws’ mission
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in event planning, volunteer management, or related fields is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed during event preparation and execution.
