The Volunteer Food and Beverage Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the success of the Santa Paws event by managing all aspects of food and beverage service. This position requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for creating a positive experience for event attendees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organise and manage waste disposal
- Manage the food and beverage related administrative tasks such as; power, public liability insurance, food safety certification and any registration requirements with the local council. (Randwick Council).
- Collaborate with the event planning team to develop a food and beverage plan that aligns with the event's theme, budget, and attendee preferences.
- Research and secure food and beverage vendors, including caterers, food trucks, and beverage suppliers, ensuring they meet the charity's requirements and budget constraints.
- Coordinate menu selection, dietary accommodations, and food safety practices with vendors to ensure a high-quality dining experience for attendees.
- Manage all aspects of food and beverage service during the event, including setup, replenishment, and cleanup, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and track expenses related to food and beverages to stay within budget constraints and provide post-event reconciliation.
- Collaborate with the Events Coordinator and Marketing team to promote food and beverage vendors to enhance the event experience and increase revenue.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food and beverage management, catering, or event planning preferred.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Passion for animal welfare and the Santa Paws’ mission.
