About Sharks And Rays Australia Research Ltd. SARA-r the not-for-profit research organisation was founded by SARA Pty Ltd in 2021, to expand our ongoing work with endangered sharks and rays, including Australia’s unique sawfish, both in Queensland and Australia wide. We aim to advance research and education into Sharks and Rays, advocating for conservation of these critically endangered species. Our work includes conduct field work, and Citizen science projects, collaborating with Aboriginal Land and Sea Ranger groups and local schools.

Duties & Responsibilities: • Develop a fundraising and sponsorship strategy to help SARA-r generate sustainable sources of revenue. • Identify strategies and advise on ways to fundraise and cultivate a variety of sponsors and philanthropic sources of revenue. • Support the Board of Directors in developing fundraising and sponsorship goals (metrics) and plans. • Advise on systems and processes required to achieve fundraising and sponsorship goals.

Selection Criteria

Essential

4. Minimum 5 years experience in philanthropy, major gifts, corporate sponsorship, bequests or fundraising.

5. Knowledge and skills in developing and implementing donor acquisition, retention and growth strategies that deliver financial and non-financial targets

6. Able to provide clear advice and develop strategies and plans to help drive fundraising and sponsorship revenue.

Highly Desirable

3. Experience in a marketing and/or communications
4. Understanding of the research and/or conservation not-for-profit sector
