Our Volunteer Ward Assistants enhance the patient experience by providing companionship and practical support to patients during their stay.

Duties include:

• Assist and escort patients during their stay

• Assist with patient discharges from hospital

• Offer library trolley selection of books and magazines to patients

• Provide companionship to patients and visitors

• Tidy patient rooms e.g. emptying vases and refill patient water jugs

• Restock ward supplies

• Assist staff with tasks e.g. photocopying, filing, collation of charts and resource packs.

Volunteers must be able to commit to the same shift weekly for a minimum period of 4 months.

Available shifts:

Wednesday 9am-1pm

Thursday 9am-1pm

Volunteers must meet our immunity requirements.

All Mater Volunteers receive on boarding and training to ensure you are confident in your role.
