Part Time Volunteer Board Member
Bicycles for Humanity Melbourne
The Board member will have experience in a NFP organisation, developing strategies, to leverage their reputational capital and experience to challenge the status quo, to help build a diversity of experience, expertise and perspectives within the organisation.
This part time, volunteer role presents a unique opportunity to help build a small but well-established and well respected not for profit in its next steps towards growth and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion Bicycles for Humanity, Melbourne’s mission and values
- Contribute strategies to ensure the organisation’s operations, processes and structure support diversity and short-term and long-term growth objectives
- Ensure the effective governance, transparency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Promote a safe and healthy workplace
- Participate in bicycle packing days as able
- Other duties as required
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Previous Board director experience
- Experience working in the community, not for profit or charity sector
- Experience in member and stakeholder engagement,
- Organisational leadership and management skills
- Experience in strategic planning and reporting
- Understanding of financial management and budgeting
- Demonstrated alignment with Bicycles for Humanity, Melbourne’s mission and values
The time and willingness to commit to the role for a minimum of 12 months
Desirable
Established connections with African communities in Melbourne or in-country
