NSW Masters Championships - Timing support

Rowing NSW

Timers: Rowing NSW are seeking timers to help at the NSW Masters Championships on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May.

You are welcome to time for however long or short amount of time you are able to commit.

How do I time? Please note no previous experience is necessary.

Each hut/Finish Tower has 9 buttons in it which are numbered. These buttons correspond with a lane on the course. (Please note the colors of the buttons do not mean anything and DO NOT correspond with bow numbers).

The buttons are divided into 3 hand held timers. If there are 3 people in the timing hut give 1 timer to each person. If there are less you will have to work out what is the best system for you.

As a boat crosses the line for example the 1000m mark you will need to press that boats NUMBER/LANE.

There is no on switch so no need to press anything other than the numbered buttons.

The Tower timers are also the hooter for when crews cross the line..

Don't worry! Sometimes races can be busy but if you mess up just keep going, the people in the finish tower will see this and can switch them if required.

If something is so close that you can't tell, don't worry no one else can either. That's what the camera on the finish is for.

We will reimburse you for lunch if you are volunteering for more than 5 hours. Snacks will also be provided.

We can't run these events without your help so please get involved and find out what happens behind the scenes at regattas!

If you are able to help please respond to this advert with your preferred hours and we will get back to you.

We look forward to hearing from you!
