Prace is a not-for-profit education provider committed to meeting the vocational training and educational needs of adults. Prace offers a wide range of flexible and inclusive courses to enhance learning for adults.

The volunteer's role includes:

*Relating to people from different cultural backgrounds and awareness of some of the different attitudes learners may bring to the learning process.

*Following the teacher/trainer's lead, assist students in the classroom.

*Being active in the classroom and aware of students needing assistance from you.

*Acting as a catalyst, consultant, guide and model for learning.

*Initiating conversation during breaks and other 'social times'.

*Inviting student contributions through appropriate questions and answer techniques.

*Assisting individuals or small groups of students in completing their work, remembering to encourage independence in students rather than dominating their efforts.

*Having patience and the ability to empathise with the students in their learning.

*Providing feedback to teachers and coordinators on student progress and issues as required.

*Participating in relevant professional development and training.

*Being familiar with and following relevant Prace policies and procedures at all times.
