  About Give Write

Give Write is a WA charity that takes donations of new and used stationery to recycle, repackage and re-gift to children in need.  Our vision is for all WA children to have access to items to engage with their education and be inspired to learn.

 

  Volunteering at Give Write

Give Write offers two types of volunteering opportunities:

 

• For Community members – Groups of 15 community members (including parents and children) attend our Subiaco office to sort, test and prepare Student Packs. These are held on weekends and in the school holidays. Sessions run for three to four hours.

 

• For Corporate teams – Teams of 10 to 15 Professionals attend our Subiaco office to sort, test and prepare Student Packs. These are held on weekdays. Sessions run for four to five hours.

  We are seeking expressions of interest from those interested in overseeing the community or corporate sessions (or both). 

  About the Role

  As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will be an integral part of the Give Write team through overseeing our community and corporate volunteering events. We rely heavily on these volunteer groups to sort, test and prepare our Student Packs.

  The role entails:

 

• Welcome volunteers into the office. 
• Provide a short introduction about Give Write and what the volunteers will be undertaking.
• Oversee volunteers during the session, including answering questions or providing more activities for them to complete.
• Ensure morning tea / lunch breaks are provided as per the event schedule.
• Thank volunteers at the end of event, acknowledge the work completed and the impact that it will have.
• General tidy up after the volunteers have left.

  There will be at least two Volunteer Coordinators (or other staff) at each session.

The role will report to, and training be provided, by our CEO.

  We ask that – before applying – you meet the following criteria:

  -          Good communication skills (including the ability to present to small groups). -          Support Give Write’s mission and our values. -          You have a positive, can-do attitude. -          Able to commit to at least eight hours per month. -          Access to transport to get to our Subiaco office. -          Must have or be willing to obtain a National Police Clearance (Give Write can arrange).
