Conservation Volunteers Australia

Logo for Conservation Volunteers Australia

When: Tuesday, May 14th, from 10am-12.30pm

Meeting point: Next to 99 Bayview Rd, Lauderdale TAS 7021

Activities: removing small and medium sized weeds by hand, sometimes using hand tools. Rubbish collection (optional)

Come and help us look after the saltmarsh in Lauderdale, a beautiful and significant area that tends to be forgotten and get neglected.

Last year we worked hard to remove Spanish heath, radiata pine, geranium and other invasive weeds. We'll follow-up on our efforts to make sure these weeds stay under control. By doing so, we'll ensure the native plants have enough space and nutrition, less competition and provide food and habitat for native wildlife.

We'll also have a chance to clean up the area and make sure that this is a safe and healthy place for humans and wildlife alike.

By joining our event, you'll be looking after nature and spending a couple of hours recharging, getting your hands dirty and taking time to appreciate this beautiful area.

Free event, all welcome!

Please wear a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, fully enclosed shoes (steel caps preferred) and a hat.
