Boxthorn Busters at Prince of Wales Bay

Conservation Volunteers Australia

Logo for Conservation Volunteers Australia

When: Sunday, May 26th, 2024, 10am-1pm

Meeting point: On Gepp Parade, Derwent Park TAS 7009

Activities: pruning established woody shrubs

Age requirement: Ages 16 and over

Join us at Prince of Wales Bay where we'll continue to remove established boxthorn plants to make room for natives we're planning to plant out later in the year. We've made a great start removing plants earlier this year and are getting closer and closer to having it all removed. By helping us, you'll be playing an integral part in removing this notorious weed and making space for native vegetation to be planted out.

Have a lovely morning out, connect with like-minded volunteers and make a difference to our environment.

All volunteers aged 16 and over are welcome to take part of this event.

Morning tea will be provided.

Please ensure you wear a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, fully enclosed, a hat and sturdy shoes (boxthorn thorns can go through shoes!).
