Bush Regeneration Assistant Supervisor

Lead and supervise bush regeneration teams in the restoration of native habitats within the Caboolture area.
You must have: A passion for environmental conservation and bushland restoration is essential to this role. Excellent leadership and communication abilities Willingness to learn and work collaboratively with a diverse team Previous experience in bush regeneration or related fields is desirable but not essential
- Be able to study and learn how to identify native and invasive flora and fauna as it will be continual through your role. Training will be provided
- Stay informed or learn about current environmental policies, best practices, and research findings related to bushland management and conservation
Your will:
- Coordinate and collaborate with volunteers and help promote community engagement in conservation efforts.
- Provide training and guidance to volunteers and team members on proper bush regeneration techniques, including weed removal, revegetation, and habitat enhancement.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of restoration projects, keeping detailed records of plantings, weed control and site progress, species diversity, and ecosystem health indicators.
- Maintain equipment and tools used for bush regeneration activities, ensuring they are in good working condition and safely operated.
- Follow all policies and OHS required of role
- Be able to get a bluecard
Over time you will be involved in planning aspects of site maitenance
- Conduct site assessments and surveys to determine the extent of environmental degradation and prioritise areas for restoration.
- Identify regional ecosystems and structural complexity of local indigenous plant species understanding their ecological roles within the ecosystem.
- Develop and implement effective conservation strategies to enhance biodiversity and ecosystem resilience.
