About the Role

The Administrative Assistant Volunteer is responsible for providing general administrative support to the Vocational & Empowerment Pathways Program. The volunteer will update and maintain the Employment database, spreadsheets and conduct relevant pre-employment checks for program participants.

Program: Vocational & Empowerment Pathways

The Vocational and Empowerment Pathways program supports people seeking asylum to find a job in Australia, by becoming skilled, savvy and independent job-seekers with the local labour market.

We also focus on building strategic relationships between the ASRC and supportive employers through our employer partnerships. This provides the basis for organisations to contact the ASRC when they are in need of workers, as well as the ASRC being able to contact organisations to propose suitable candidates to meet their staffing needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be first point of contact with Service Users referred to the Employment Program Complete initial assessments of service users needs
  • Update and maintain Employment Program databases
  • Performing pre-employment checks
  • Other administrative support tasks as required

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience working with CALD people.
  • Proficiency with computers (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing needs and circumstances of the program

Desirable

  • Experience in recruitment or HR highly desirable
