The Volunteer Experience Portfolio focuses on developing, implementing, and managing all attraction, recruitment, and retention processes, tools, policies, and procedures. The team's purpose is to ensure our volunteers are supported throughout their service with PMIQ.

The position is a volunteer role and is supporting the Associate Director responsible for the Volunteer Experience Portfolio. They work under the supervision of the AD (Associate Director) Volunteer Experience and are responsible for performing operational activities associated with promoting, hiring and developing volunteers. This individual will have strong communication skills and will also be a strong team player and proactive at bringing together the team of Portfolio Volunteers.

Key duties of the Volunteer Experience portfolio are:

  • Establish and maintain all HR processes for the Chapter;
  • Ensure PMIQ adheres to professional best practices in the hiring, development and exit of volunteers;
  • Support portfolio leaders in developing roles and position descriptions;
  • Promote new opportunities for volunteers through established channels (email, website, Chapter meetings, SEEK, PMI.org).
  • Support portfolio leaders in managing recruitment and selection processes;
  • Induct and on-board all new volunteers and retire existing volunteers;
  • Assist portfolio leaders in the development of their volunteers;
  • Support all-volunteer appreciation events and activities.
  • Support for volunteer recruitment and/or retention
  • Support for the development and recognition of volunteers
  • Support to develop and implement succession and transition plans
  • Identify and develop programs to involve, develop, engage and manage volunteers
  • Build quality into volunteering by introducing and refining different processes for managing the work of volunteers
  • Understand and leverage the experience of volunteers and channel them for various initiatives in the chapter
