The Meals Program Volunteer is required from 10.00am to 2pm every Thursday to work with staff and clients to organise and prepare a communal lunch at the ASWC. The volunteer will work autonomously and ideally have experience working in a commercial kitchen. Creativity is necessary in order to create a lunch menu using food items that are available in the foodbank during that week.

Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures is essential - you'll be responsible for keeping up the hygiene and cleanliness of kitchen to ensure food safety at all times. All equipment and utensils must be cleaned, dried and put away at the end of the day. As some consumers may wish to prepare a dish, part of your role is to support them in creating that dish, while ensuring they are following food safety and handling protocols.
