Who are we? Ronald McDonald House Charities is one of the leading Global and Australian children’s charities supporting the ever-changing needs of seriously ill children and their families. In-line with its mission, Ronald McDonald House Charities Victoria & Tasmania (RMHC VIC & TAS) has dedicated more than 35 years to keeping families closer to their child with a serious illness who require treatment and support across Victoria and Tasmania.

What we're looking for:

Event Volunteer Assistant

RMHC VIC & TAS organise and participate in a number of fundraising events and activities throughout the year. These events and activities are a vital way to raise much needed funds to keep our doors open to families when they need it most.

Volunteers play a role in ensuring these events and activities run smoothly and are lots of fun for everyone involved. Volunteers join our wider team to deliver many events throughout the year including:

  • Annual Golf Day
  • Victorian Racing Carnival - Pin and Win
  • Australian Open Tennis
  • Ride for Sick Kids
  • Bunnings Sausage Sizzles
  • School holiday activities

Who are you?

Aside from a fun, energetic, passionate human - we are looking for someone who is inspired by our mission and actively wants to contribute to the values held by Ronald McDonald House Charities. You must be 18 years + to be an event volunteer with RMHC VIC & TAS

In each event volunteers carry out a range of roles including:

  • Setting up and setting down of an event
  • Selling raffle tickets and/or other items to raise funds for the charity
  • Helping people find their way around an event, taking names, keeping track of visitor numbers, encouraging visitors to take part and assisting with activities
  • Assisting with accommodating families on special outings, such as the Australian Open Tennis
  • Cooking and selling sausages at a Bunnings Sausage Sizzle

What is the selection and recruitment process?

Volunteers must complete an online application form and be available for a telephone interview.

What is the time commitment required?

Each event has a different time commitment as the length of the event varies.

What compliance is required?

  • WWC
  • Police check
  • Signing and agreeing to our Code of Conduct

Is a uniform supplied?

Volunteers are supplied with a volunteer polo and an ID badge on a lanyard which must be worn when volunteering. We may also provide hats and sunscreen depending on the season.
