Harold Hawthorne Community Centre is a not for profit organisation based in Carlisle within the Town of Victoria Park. We are a vibrant community centre and provider of choice offering services and assisting seniors and people with disabilities to continue to live independently in their own home and community.

This rewarding role involves assisting our staff with a group of clients, all of whom have a level of memory loss. Our Social Activity Centre programs supports better cognitive and physical health in an enjoyable and social setting.

Our volunteers love to make a positive difference in the lives of other people in the local area and meet new people.

Alongside our Activity Officer staff, the duties include:

Support clients as they are picked up and returned to their homes. Encouraging clients to participate in a range of fun activities, such as games, craft, music, and tai chi. Assist to prepare and serve morning tea Accompany clients at lunch in the Centre dining room (Harry’s Diner). Go on social outings to other day centres, restaurants or other venues.
