The Camberwell Art Show is the largest community art show in Australia, where we hang over 1000 selected paintings for exhibition and sale. To make this happen, volunteers are required in a wide range of roles:

  1. Receipt of Paintings: the selected artworks (approx 1200 of them) must be delivered to Swinburne on Tuesday 18 June. Lots of movement of paintings from the receipt areas to pre-determined panels with the exhibition space
  2. Layout design and Hanging Paintings (Wednesday 19 June): you will be part of many 2-3 person teams and your task will be to design a panel layout (approx 3x3m) that shows the paintings off to best effect, then arrange hanging straps and hooks (supplied) and hang them. Once that's done you move to the next panel. This work will continue through Thursday 20 June. We need the greatest number of volunteers on the Wednesday.
  3. Gala Opening (21 June): Volunteer Roles require Responsible Serving of Alcohol accreditation, hospitality as well as Sales and Customer Service experience.
  4. Open to the Public (22-30 June): Entry Desk (ticket scanning, entry payment processing; customer service roles; Sales.
  5. Hand Back Paintings (30 June-1 July): all paintings handed back to Buyers and Artists, so lots of movement of paintings from the panels to the Hand Back desks.

You will have the satisfaction of playing a role to set up and run this prestigious Art Show, with the knowledge that all funds raised at the Show go 100% to fund our many community and relief projects locally, nationally and internationally. You will also have a whole lot of fun and meet new people.
