Vinnies Night Patrol services our community and companions 365 nights of the year, stopping in four different locations in Canberra and Queanbeyan. Anyone in need is welcome to attend the van at its location. There, they are provided with light refreshments, material items and companionship.

It is a volunteer’s key duty to serve our companions, providing a vital point of access to the items they need.

• On The Ground Support - Your presence will provide comfort and aid to individuals who may be experiencing homelessness, hunger, or other challenges.

• Dignity Preservation - As a Vinnies Night Patrol Volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to restore dignity to those who may feel social isolated and/or marginalised.

• Providing Essentials - You'll have the chance to distribute light refreshments, warm cuppas, clothing, and other essential items to our companions.

• Companionship - Sometimes, a listening ear or a friendly smile can make all the difference. By offering companionship and support, you have the ability to brighten someone's day!

With social isolation being a very common problem for those we serve, it is important that Night Patrol can put volunteers on the ground to care and connect. We stress that our volunteers aren’t there to be professional case managers, our aim is to provide a space where our companions feel comfortable sharing their stories and experiences.
