We are looking for persons to join our small but mighty team of dedicated volunteers to help preserve this Historic Vessel. The Falie has a history that dates back a hundred years including her service during WW2 and has a long history in serving this state with goods by sea.

This is a unique unpaid volunteering role, with the applicant comfortable with hands on learning with new systems and methods in reference to heritage vessels. No technical skills or previous sea life qualification required as training will be provided on the job. An opportunity to work in a diverse and wide range of unique workplace spaces and environment on board the Historic Ketch Falie.

Skills required

  • Maintain Vessels Rigging
  • Maintain the deck by chipping and painting.
  • Maintain lower decks and cabins.
  • Restore fitting and equipment onboard.
  • Maintain Wood furnishings and fittings.
  • Work alongside the current crew aboard the Falie,
  • Adhere to the OH&S regulation and Environment Safe Work Practices.
  • The ability to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • The ability to understand and implement Government Safe Work Practices.
  • Completing other relevant duties as requested.
