Responsibilities • Safely transport clients as directed by Hospital Coordinator; Volunteer Coordinator or other person acting in their position. • Ensure manual handling and best practice rules are always applied during loading and unloading of patient. • Ensure child safety is adhered to if transporting children such as child lock on the doors, baby seat is fitted and secured. • Compliance with the Western Australia Country Health - South West (WACHS) Safe Driving Procedure and adhere to the travel plan. • Abide by the Western Australian road rules & parking laws. • Provide a friendly and caring conversation along the way.
• Ensure all passengers are wearing their seatbelt and abiding to safety procedures. • Report any wellbeing, health, or safety concerns regarding a passenger. • Ensure the vehicle is safe to drive before commencing. • Respect the confidentiality of any passengers. • Complete the journey logbook on each trip. • Return the vehicle at least 50% full of fuel and any rubbish such as coffee cups are removed. • Provide accurate odometer readings when refueling the vehicle. • Ensure receipt for fuel purchase is obtained and left in Vehicle info wallet. • Immediately report incidences, accidents or concerns to the Volunteer Coordinator or Hospital Coordinator.
