NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) is the lead agency in response to flood, storm and tsunami emergencies. It also provides critical rescue and missing persons search capabilities to other agencies. The organisation is made up almost entirely of volunteers who commit to supporting their community in its time of need!

The Parkes Unit which is located at 73 Alluvial St is currently looking for adaptable and flexible volunteers to join our dynamic team!!!

As a SES Volunteer, you would be involved in the following activities:

  • Respond to storm, flood, and water damage emergencies.
  • Flood Boat rescue & operations.
  • Chainsaw operations.
  • Assist emergency service groups in search and rescue operations.
  • Land searches for missing persons.
  • Undertake 4x4 response capability.
  • Logistics support duties during emergencies
  • Community education and engagement.
  • Opportunity to participate in multi-agency emergency exercises.
