Description of opportunity:

Our Inclusive Activities Program runs on Fridays and Saturdays, generally between the hours of 8am-12pm. These activities occur across various Brisbane locations, and could involve going for a kayak at Raby Bay, or exploring the wetlands at Tinchi Tamba Reserve. It would be expected that you could attend one or two of these 3-hour activities per month as we would like you to support our clients 1 on 1 including transportation.

As a Support Worker, your role is pivotal in facilitating our nature-based activities. Whether it's providing companionship to individuals, capturing epic adventure moments, or lending a hand for water activities, your small acts of kindness make a big difference in creating meaningful experiences for our clients.

Essential Criteria:

  • Be available for one or two activities per month.
  • Possession, or willing to possess, a Working with Children Check (QLD Blue Card)
  • Access to a vehicle for getting to and from activities (insured and roadworthy vehicle is a must)
  • Understanding and commitment to the rights and interests of people with disabilities, mental health, and youth
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships.
  • A strong understanding of social inclusion A passion for gardening and being in nature.

Nature Freedom was founded by Mathew Townsend in 2017. Its aim is to create inclusive and accessible nature-based activities to facilitate community engagement.
