The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Alamein Neighbourhood & Learning.

Key duties:

1. Content Creation: Write engaging and informative articles, stories, and updates for our organisations' newsletter.
2. Editing: Review and edit content submitted by contributors to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency in style.
3. Collaboration: Work closely with the communications team to brainstorm ideas, develop content plans, and coordinate publication schedules.
4. Research: Conduct research on relevant topics and trends to incorporate into newsletter content.
5. Interviewing: Interview community members, volunteers, and staff to gather stories and testimonials for inclusion in the newsletter.
6. Proofreading: Review final drafts for grammar, spelling, and formatting errors before publication.
7. Deadline Management: Adhere to established deadlines for content submission and publication.
8. Feedback Incorporation: Incorporate feedback from stakeholders to continuously improve the quality and relevance of newsletter content.
9. Distribution Assistance: Assist with the distribution of the newsletter, whether in print or digital format, to ensure broad accessibility.

Skills / qualifications / Experience:

1. Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
4. Ability to meet deadlines.
5. Creativity and a passion for storytelling.
6. Familiarity with newsletter publishing platforms or willingness to learn.
7. Prior experience in journalism, communications, or related fields is preferred but not required.
