Bunbury Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service (VFRS) volunteers play a significant and vital role in helping to ensure their local communities are safe. As a brigade firefighter your duties may include:

  • Respond to Structural fires.
  • Respond Vehicle accidents.
  • Respond to hazardous material incidents.
  • Assist with asset protection during a bush fire.
  • Respond to Bush fires.
  • Work with the community to identify and manage local fire risk.
  • Undertake local fire prevention activities with the community.
  • Educate community in fire safety.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Attend emergency incidents when available.
  • Attend regular training to enhance and maintain knowledge and skills.
  • Work within a team.
  • Maintain firefighting vehicles and equipment on a regular basis.
  • Attend and assist at fundraising and other brigade functions.
