CVA Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA) runs regular volunteering opportunities in the Hobart area. Whether you'd like to learn about our local wetlands or do some hands-on work to help them, there's a suitable volunteering opportunity for you!

Revive our Wetlands Our project in Hobart is called Revive Our Wetlands - we look after pockets of remaining wetlands along the river Derwent by weeding (hand-pulling and chemical), planting and maintenance. We often work together with local community groups and our volunteer events have a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, often with new volunteers just like you! When we're not getting our hands dirty we run events to educate about local wetlands - here you can learn about these natural spaces and their unique species. You'll always leave with having learnt something new and possibly with seeing a new part of Hobart which you didn't know was there!

What impact will your volunteering have? By volunteering with us, you will help native vegetation and wildlife and restore important ecosystems. Every weed pulled and tree planted makes an impact and your contribution is extremely valuable!

When and where do volunteer events take place? All of our events take place close to Hobart, a maximum 30 minute drive from the CBD. If you don't have your own transport, contact us to see if you can carpool with another volunteer. We hold about two events per month, usually during the week, but sometimes on Sundays as well.

How do I sign up? Browse our volunteering opportunities on our website (Click on Get Involved, and scroll down to Healthy Derwent, healthy communities). Select a volunteer event that you'd like to join and register through the website. We also have an app where you can find and register for events, search for CVA Community Hub in your app store. Join our Facebook group and hear about events and our latest updates: Conservation Volunteers Tasmania.
