Multiple Sclerosis is funded to provide a volunteer visiting program – the Community Visitors Scheme (CVS). Volunteer visitors share stories, go for a stroll or have a cuppa, listen to music or play a board game. Our volunteers play a vital role in the life of a person living in an aged care home or their own home through ongoing friendship We have a very engaging happy and caring gentleman in Lakes Entrance who would benefit enormously from your visits and friendship. He loves nothing better than good conversation about current affairs ,he would also get enjoyment from going out for a coffee on occasions as well
You need to be warm, caring, reliable and be willing to commit to weekly connections/visits or at least fortnightly connections/visits for a minimum of 12 months/ongoing. Good English communication skills are required for this recipient, however volunteers with other languages willing to be matched to same language are very welcome to enquire MS believes in a person to person approach and aspire to match you with someone local with shared interests and hobbies.
