Community Visitor Social volunteer, Culburra Beach [ACVVS]

HammondCare Australia

Logo for HammondCare Australia

As a HammondCare volunteer, you’ll spend time with someone in your local community who may be lonely or socially isolated. An elderly gentleman will enjoy your company and he's interested in gardening, painting and quizzes.

We're looking for caring individuals who can sit and have a chat, reminisce and talk about topics of interest with elderly people in their own homes. Play card games, watch a movie, have a cuppa, go for a walk outside, or visit your local coffee shop or men’s shed group.

Our Volunteer Coordinator will spend time with you to understand your interests and background, and they’ll work to match you with a client in a suburb nearby who may share these similar interests.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the client you are matched with.

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme is funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and their local community.

HammondCare

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity, supporting people to live in their homes and maintain their independence. We're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need and we have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of clients who are living at home.
