The Mainly Music Group Leader leads the group in artistic skill and spiritual discipleship, to achieve artistic goals by overseeing the participation of members in worship services and special events. The Mainly Music Group Leader supports the corps in pastoral care for music members, the congregation and the wider community of the local mission expression.

Key responsibilities:

  • Management and administration: Mentor and lead team of Mainly Music Ministry Assistants to facilitate practice and performance sessions. Create rosters, record and manage team's information and training, oversee resourcing of equipment and instruments.

  • Performance preparation: Oversee Mainly Music Ministry Assistants as they prepare the space accordingly with refreshments, instruments and seating for musicians, and songs are chosen in advance and the audio-visual equipment is ready to go.

  • During performances and practice sessions: Along with the team of Mainly Music Ministry Assistants, create a friendly and engaging atmosphere by welcoming every musician, ensuring their attendance is recorded and offering refreshments. Oversee audio-visual presentations as well ensuring audience members are all seated during performances.

  • Attendance: Encourage Mainly Music Ministry Members to be reliable in attending rehearsals and performances as agreed, and to constructively engage in post-performance reviews.

Qualifications and skills (desired/required):

  • Commitment to Christian faith and experience in relevant fields of leadership, management, and organisation/administration highly desired

  • Knowledge and teaching skills in the relevant Creative Art form required

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
