The role of the Veteran Activity Support Volunteer is vital in creating a sense of wellbeing, connection, and community for veterans. Volunteers support staff in delivering activities that enhance veterans’ wellbeing.

Main Tasks:

  • Support staff in delivering activities that enhance veterans’ wellbeing.

  • You may support with activities such as cooking, fishing, golfing, movies, BBQs, etc

  • Establish positive connections and support veterans on their journey to recovery.

  • Maintain confidentiality at all times

  • Follow the guidance from staff

  • Communicate and report concerns, issues and feedback to staff

Personal Qualities and skills:

  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to make personal connections with people from different backgrounds

  • Personal experience or understanding of the military experience is essential

  • Understanding of the life after the service is essential

  • Be reliable, flexible and committed

  • Have patience, kindness and empathy

  • A desire to make a positive difference in someone’s life

  • Alignment with RSL LifeCare values and willingness to follow policies and procedures
