About the Program

Base 10 is a community facility offering a wide range of programs and activities for young people aged 8–25 years within the local area.

At Base 10, our focus is on music and creative arts. We maximise the use of our equipment, which includes a performance hall and stage, sound and lighting equipment, a Jam room, a recording studio and sound booth, and a media lab.

Essential Tasks

• Ability to connect with young people and guide them through the recording process, utilising computers, digital hardware, and the songwriting process.
• Volunteers would assist facilitators in helping students work on their respective projects.

Skills/Knowledge/Personal Qualities

• Production skills in one/ or all of the following Music Programs: o Ableton o Logic o Fruity Loops o Garage Band
• Experience in producing music and the ability to instruct beginners to use Music Hardware or Music Software.
• Have a good understanding of current music artists and styles, particularly Hip- Hop, electronic music, and Singer-Songwriters.

Time Commitment

Thursdays, 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm.

Special Requirements

• Must possess and provide a Department of Human Services (DHS) “Not Prohibited” Working with Children Check prior to commencement.
• Must be prepared to undertake Child Safe Environment training. (These will be organised for you)
