ABOUT LYF Now in its 11th year of operation, Leading Youth Forward (LYF) is a completely volunteer-run organisation which provides a structured mentoring and development program to around 80 at-risk Perth teens in years 7 to 10. Teens are carefully matched with a mentor typically aged between 22 - 39, who provides one-on-one support and encouragement to build confidence, nurture personal growth and positively influence their teen at a critical stage in their life. We run five teen events a year, including one weekend-long camp and four ‘Big Days Out’.

THE ROLE The Fundraising Officer keeps the charity well supported by regularly pursuing funding relationships with businesses, applying for grants, developing corporate partnerships, organising fundraising events and thinking of new and exciting fundraising initiatives.

Some duties you will undertake are:

  • Attend monthly committee meetings
  • Chip away at grant applications
  • Assist at our teen events and plan fundraising initiatives (such as a cocktail party)
  • Research grant and fundraising opportunities
  • Network with volunteers, businesses and philanthropists to generate fundraising opportunities
  • Develop a fundraising strategy for 2024/2025

Envisage approx. 1-2 hours per week (sometimes more, sometimes less).

HOW TO APPLY Please email the President, Scott Duffield (details below) with your answers to the following questions along with two references:

  1. Why would you like to volunteer with us?
  2. What relevant skills, qualities or experience will you bring to the role?
