Empowered Together is a non-for-profit organisation that works towards the peer led primary prevention of sexual violence. Our vision is a world where sexual integrity is respected, sexual violence is taken seriously and those who have experienced sexual violence receive the support they need to heal. We are youth run and seek to engage this generation to lead the change. Our two main operations include running workshops on consent and sexual assault in secondary schools and engaging the wider community through our online platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY

Deliver consent education and sexual assault prevention workshops to young people.

DUTIES

  • Attend training sessions to be well-versed on our workshop content and answering questions on consent and sexual assault prevention
  • Facilitate workshops to secondary schools, universities and community groups
  • Be a part of developing and improving workshop content
  • Communicate feedback from students back to the Chief Operating Officer and
  • Abide by our Child Protection Policy and Disclosure Policy.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Deeply passionate about the primary prevention of sexual violence
  • Confident in speaking in front of groups of young people and delivering content
  • Works well with others and in a team environment
  • Enjoys learning and engaging in the areas of education, sexual assault prevention and youth education
  • The successful applicant must possess or be willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (Volunteer)

TIME COMMITMENT

TRAINING

  • Throughout the year, training/practice sessions run every fortnight on weekends in a hybrid model (some sessions are held online over zoom and some in person depending on the session objectives)
  • A total of 10 hours of training/practice sessions is required before facilitators are qualified to deliver workshops.

WORKSHOPS Once the training requirement is reached, time commitment is flexible. However, facilitators are expected to be available for a minimum of 2 weekdays, as this is when we deliver workshops in schools. PLEASE NOTE: To be eligible to become a Workshop Facilitator in this round, you MUST be available to attend a training day on Sunday, March 24. If you are not able to attend this date, we encourage you to apply and we will contact you for the next round of recruitment.
