We are seeking expressions of interest from prospective volunteers to help us deliver this valuable service.

Travellers Aid is committed to enabling individuals of all abilities to connect to people and place. Our vision is a society where people with mobility challenges are treated with dignity and respect, being able to lead full and rich lives with confidence. We aim to achieve this by empowering people with travel related challenges to connect, engage and participate.

Volunteer Duties:

• Accompany a service user to travel via public transport (train and/or bus) to and from their medical appointment.
• Provide guidance throughout the journey, including assistance with journey planning and finding appointment locations.
• Provide support through a friendly presence while building confidence and capability to travel independently.

About you:

• Familiar and comfortable with using public transport, or willingness to learn
• Flexible and adaptable
• Enthusiastic
• Observant
• Able to work independently/unsupervised
• Strong verbal communication
• Familiarity with local health services (desirable, but not essential)
