Dementia-Friendly Volunteer Visitors for residents in Bray Park (Anam Cara)

Wesley Mission Queensland Volunteer Visitors Program

Address: Anam Cara Aged Care Community, 43 Lavarack Avenue, Bray Park 4500.

We’re looking for special Volunteer Visitors who are ready to make a difference in 2024. You may bring lived experience of a loved one with dementia, or have an interest in studying health or social sciences, but the most precious thing you can bring to the role is an ability to see the world through another person's eyes. Your positivity can impact the way our residents experience comfort and contentment in their environment through individual or small group visits, an hour per week or fortnight.

You will be supported by paid staff who are dedicated to engaging our residents in ways that are meaningful and life-affirming to each individual person.

Volunteer Visitor hours are available weekdays, Monday to Friday, between 9am and 3pm and times are negotiated prior to visits. If you feel motivated to help out on weekends and outside these times, we would also like to hear from you.

Volunteer Visitors follow a COVID-19 safe work plan and are not involved in providing personal care to the people they visit.

Please Note: To see our full range of Volunteer Visitor opportunities and to help us find you the most rewarding and suitable role, you must complete an online registration form, which will be forwarded to you when you apply for this role.

Wesley Mission Queensland is a welcoming and rewarding place to be a Volunteer Visitor, where you will meet many wonderful people and learn new skills that may assist you personally and professionally.

We look forward to hearing from you!
